Job Responsibilities
Your specific duties as a Sourcing Specialist will include:

• Compensation (Range): $39-$42 / hour: Salary:
• The Sourcing Specialist for the Industrial & Administrative Services sourcing organization will work in a fast-paced environment supporting various projects and initiatives. This position will implement sourcing strategies for professional services in support of various corporate initiatives. This position will manage request for proposals and bidding processes while ensuring competitive pricing. Successful candidates will be able to develop and execute innovative ideas to enhance sourcing strategies and drive transformational or strategic company initiatives.
• Develops sourcing strategies along with key business partners including the execution of regional and enterprise-wide initiatives
• Maintains knowledge of commodities and market conditions that may influence sourcing and procurement activities
• Leverages analytics to help identify opportunities
• Participates in cross functional teams to implement sourcing strategies
• Drives cost avoidance and cost savings through supplier negotiations and/or the identification and implementation of process efficiencies
• Develops requests for proposals, analyzes supplier responses, and negotiates and awards agreements
• Negotiates pricing, discounts, value or other competitive differentiators
• Maintains effective interfaces with business partners and suppliers
• Manages post award supplier activities, settlements, claims or disputes
• Manages supplier relationships at a strategic level
• Leverages Legal, Insurance, Risk Management and other interested parties to ensure all contractual terms and conditions comply with Duke Energy requirements
• Incorporates supplier diversity strategies to ensure alignment with corporate goals

Job Requirements

• Bachelors degree
• In addition to required degree, 4 years related work experience
• Demonstrated business and financial expertise
• Strong negotiating skills
• Strong planning/organizational skills
• Strong problem solving/analytical skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to work independently
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Cost and financial analysis skills
• Good business acumen
• Previous sourcing & contracting experience
• Good project management experience
• Desired Qualifications
• Certified Purchasing Manager and/or Certified Professional in Supply Management
• Experience with corporate indirect services sourcing or procurement
