Job Responsibilities
Your specific duties as a Principal Project Controls Specialist will include:
- Compensation (Range): 70-80/ hour: Salary:
- **Hybrid (2-3 days in the office. Monday and Tuesday are the scheduled office days currently)**
- HIGHLY PREFERRED: Estimating Experience, Natural Gas, Energy Industry, or Pipeline/Station Construction experience
- Location: Must be currently local to Charlotte. 2 days a week onsite.
- This position is for an Estimator in the Natural Gas Major Projects Business Unit. We support and create estimates for Natural Gas Transmission & Distribution Projects (Pipelines, Regulator Stations, Meter Sets, etc.). Experience with estimating, natural gas industry, energy industry, and/or construction is preferred. Look for trends in pricing of material/labor, use actual price for indicative pricing/indicative estimates.
- This is the expert level of the Project Controls classification hierarchy. Workers at this level lead the development of the reporting systems for project controls assignments. They can perform complex aspects of individual project estimating, scheduling, change documentation and cost control while reporting up to program or portfolio level. They are also expected to have advanced skills and have the ability to work independently
Job Requirements
- Graduation from a four-year college or university - business, finance, project management, engineering, technical, or equivalent.
- Minimum of 7 years of project controls/estimating experience.
- Minimum of 11 years of industry-specific engineering/estimating/construction experience in lieu of a degree.
- Expert in project controls principles.
- Expertise / Mastery with project management / project controls concepts / computer applications / analytics; employee development; strong collaborative team member; oversight.
- Expert user in Excel.
- Preferred Qualifications: PMI or AACE certification (the following or equivalent are acceptable - PMP, CAPM, PMI-SP, AACE-CCC, AACE-PSP, AACE-CEP, AACE-EVP).
- Software such as MS Office Suite- specifically Excel, Powerplant. Risk management tools / Monte Carlo analysis.
- The Principal Project Controls Specialist may have relationships with individuals of varying levels in various organizations. Project teams of external Suppliers/Vendors
