Job Responsibilities
Your specific duties as a Performance Vehicle Manufacturing Engineer will include:
- Compensation (Range) Salary: $85K-$90K per year
- Evaluate and provide technical engineering expertise for new model projects as well as maintaining Mass Production systems with design changes and updates.
- Mass Production: Receive, evaluate and inform AF of design changes and MI's affecting their processes. Provide daily support for VIOS, GALC issues, as well as Quality concerns, work towards countermeasure.
- New Model Activity: New Model Project leadership, drawing analysis; design, develop, test, and create processes or fixtures to be implemented in production; test and develop countermeasures for past problem history; provide technical leadership in assigned area of responsibility to ensure understanding of spec; designs processes to achieve quality, delivery, and safety criteria.
- Complex Analysis: Utilize line control data, data analytics, and engineering principles to identify root cause of complex manufacturing concerns; generate reports or presentations to communicate the activity; lead countermeasure implementation.
- Process quality controls input
- Process design input
- Process safety and ergonomic design input
- Equipment or tooling design input
- Containment, repair, and handwork methods
- Develop test methods and Design of Experiment; Execute trials on production units
- Automotive experience can be racing / automotive hobby. Needs to be passionate for this type of work.
- Needs to be big on teamwork- PMC is a small team, and everyone works in multiple departments as needed (quality, paint, etc.)
- Project Management experience
- Manufacturing Process know-how
- Statistical Process Control & Data Analytics experience
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering and 2 years of experience (e.g., Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing) or 8 years related experience.
- 3D Modeling Software Experience (CATIA Preferred), Project Management, Manufacturing Process know-how, Statistical Process Control, Data Analytics, Ability to read and interpret 2D drawings, Ability to issue CRF's.
- Must be willing to work overtime, sometimes on short notice.
- Must be willing to travel as needed
- Must be able to support manufacturing as needed (may include handwork, online inspections, or temporarily support a production process)
- Must be able to collaborate with associates from many different backgrounds (including management, other engineers, and Manufacturing Technicians)
- Must be able to work independently
- Must possess interpersonal skills
- Must possess knowledge of the manufacturing environment
- Must have written and oral communication skills to present to various audiences
