Job Responsibilities
Your specific duties as a Substation Engineer will include:

  • Substation Engineer
  • 12-month contract with potential
  • Lake Mary, FL - Hybrid (2 days in office)
  • Pay- $60-62/hr
  • We are seeking an experienced Substation Engineer to join our team in Lake Mary, FL.
  • As a Substation Engineer, you will play a key role in the design and development of high-voltage substations for power utility projects.
  • Your expertise in substation design, high-voltage equipment application, lightning protection, grounding systems, and CAD will be crucial to the success of our projects.
  • Design and engineer high-voltage substations for power utility applications.
  • Ensure the correct application of high-voltage equipment and components.
  • Develop lightning protection systems for substations.
  • Design and optimize grounding systems to meet safety and performance standards.
  • Utilize CAD software to create detailed and accurate substation drawings and schematics.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the successful completion of projects.
  • Perform technical reviews, analysis, and quality control of substation designs.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience in substation design for high-voltage power utility projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of high-voltage equipment application and specifications.
  • Expertise in designing lightning protection systems for substations.
  • Strong understanding of grounding systems and their implementation.
  • Proficiency in CAD software for substation design.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license.
  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience with substation automation and control systems.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and regulations.
