Job Responsibilities
Your specific duties as a Fabrication Operation Manager will include:
- Compensation (Range): / hour: Salary: $120,000 - $140,000
- This position is responsible for developing plans for process upgrades, factory development, new product introductions and monitoring adhering to budgets and production schedules. This position is also responsible for providing leadership to department managers throughout the manufacturing area.
- Plan, monitor and control spending
- Assist New Product/Projects Manager in studying the feasibility of new projects
- Plan and maintain time schedule
- Allocate priorities to tasks and reschedule work or tasks as needed
- Monitor and report progress
- Manage the all manufacturing areas
- Implement any necessary training programs for department managers
- Establish and discipline within each team to follow standards to build products
- Promote safety awareness, quality culture and customer focus
- Ensure that Continuous Improvement Tools and Techniques are utilized to improve operations.
- Promote using Problem Solving Tools and Techniques in an effort to assist Manufacturing in the elimination of defects and inventory areas
- Reports to GM of Operations
Job Requirements
- Must pass any drug screens, background checks and any pre-employments tests as applicable.
- Bachelor's degree
- Fifteen to twenty years of manufacturing experience with some knowledge of each department
- Seven to ten years of experience in a supervisory/department manager role
- Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree or MBA with a manufacturing emphasis
- Fifteen to twenty years of manufacturing experience with some knowledge of each department in a related industry
- Ten years of experience in a supervisory/department manager role
- Physical Requirements
- Must be able to work flexible schedule
- Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 10lbs, frequently and/or move up to 35lbs, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50lbs
- Must be able to perform continuous, repetitious physical activities. These activities may involve fine movements or large motions
- Must be able to grasp/pinch small items, reach out and up, and turn wrist
- Must be capable of keeping pace with current production speed
- Must be able to push/pull with reasonable force
- Must be able to perform the following requirements of bending, stooping, climbing, kneeling, and standing for extended periods of time
- Must be able to work in multiple climates including: hot/cold temperatures, and dusty environment
- Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Competencies
- Experience with world-class organizations or Tier One Suppliers
- Ability to develop and implement strategies
- Conversant in quality processes driven toward achieving goals
- Adept in matrix, multi-cultural organization
- Solid analytical skills with a practical balance of shop floor experience
- Knowledge of manufacturing equipment and processes
