Job Summary
We are seeking a Construction Supervisor to oversee and coordinate day-to-day construction activities involving both in-house and contractor crews. This role requires ensuring projects adhere to company standards, schedules, and permitting requirements while managing resources, resolving scheduling concerns, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. The position demands hands-on leadership, collaborative communication, and process optimization in a dynamic construction environment.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, coordinate, and support daily construction activities for in-house and contractor crews
  • Ensure all construction projects are planned and executed according to company standards, specifications, schedules, and permitting requirements
  • Oversee construction schedules, prioritize work, and allocate resources effectively
  • Review and approve as-built drawings for accuracy prior to contractor payment
  • Act as liaison with internal departments, contractors, customers, agencies, and management to resolve project or scheduling concerns
  • Maintain up-to-date construction action plans and communicate priorities across the organization
  • Support the adoption and implementation of new construction materials, practices, and technologies as appropriate
  • Identify and implement process improvements that increase efficiency and effectiveness
  • Monitor crew workloads and productivity; adjust as necessary to meet standards and project timelines
  • Ensure compliance with applicable Collective Bargaining Agreements and promote positive labor relations
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives by establishing and refining processes, standards, best practices, and performance metrics
  • Perform core supervisory duties, including planning, organizing, performance management, staffing, coaching, time entry, budgeting, and reporting

Requirements

  • Experience supervising or managing construction projects involving multiple teams or contractors
  • Solid understanding of project management, construction scheduling, and resource allocation
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction/project management software (e.g., Maximo)
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to identify issues and recommend solutions
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills across all organizational levels
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, deadlines, and customer relationships
  • Experience applying continuous improvement principles and practices
  • Preferred experience in renewables, underground/overhead, substation, or civil trades
  • Journeyman electrician certification is a plus

Education

  • Associate's degree or certificate in engineering, construction management, or related field (required)
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management or related discipline (preferred)
