INTERVIEW PROCESS

• Typically, two rounds.
• Can be a third one based on role/candidate.
• Some roles require having two round of interviews on-site.
• Some roles require having one round on-site, and one round virtual.

BACKGROUND CHECK REQUIREMENTS

• Must clear criminal checks.
• Must provide three professional references from current/previous employers.

POSITION SUMMARY

• Provides technical support for the manufacturing of products.
• Ensures the design and functionality of the product to meet customer expectations.

IDEAL CANDIDATE * An electrical/mechanical background. * Tier 1 product development experience. * Experience with mechanisms is ideal. * Experience with design release and launching new products.QUALIFICATIONS Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Attributes * Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering. * P.Eng. designation is preferred. * Automotive Product Development experience (Mechanisms and/or Structures). * Red X or 6σ training would be an asset. DESIRABLE ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS (Optional) - Preferred but not required * Ability to work successfully in a fast-paced team environment with minimum supervision. * Excellent knowledge of APQP, FMEA, DVP&R, GD&T, PPAP and other core tools. * Excellent interpersonal, written and communication skills. * Working knowledge of manufacturing processes/systems (Stamping, Moulding, Assembly, Welding). * Strong presentation and analytical skills. * Maintain a valid passport and flexible to travel to customer sites in North America and abroad. * Automotive manufacturing experience.MAIN TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES * Provide Application Engineering support for New Program Launches * Audit external designs for feasibility and adherence to established best practices. * Participate in Critical Design Review events and support closure of open product design issues. * Review and confirm engineering disciplines including (but not limited to). * Component and Assembly Detail Drawings. * GD&T call outs and tolerance stack-ups. * Finite Element Structural Analysis. * DVP&R and Customer/Internal Specifications. * FMEA and Control Plans. * Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering team on DFM/DFA endeavors. * Support warranty reduction activities with a design focus. * Work with stakeholders to identify, validate and launch product cost reduction opportunities. * Assist Quality and Manufacturing teams with root cause analysis and permanent corrective action implementation. * Performs all job functions abiding by the office/work standards, policies and procedures as outlines in the company handbook. * Performs all job functions in alignment with IATF 16949 quality management standards and ISO 14001. * Actively participates in continuous improvement. * Maintain 5S standards in working environment. * Attend training based on client's internal training matrix. * Performs all job functions in a safe, healthful and environmentally conscious manner, abiding by all health, safety and environment rules and regulations as outlined in the company handbook. * Performs other duties as assigned or any reasonable request by management. WORKING CONDITIONS & EFFORT Environment, physical, mental and team efforts and other work requirements * Mainly an office environment that is climate controlled. * At times, a manufacturing plant environment may be required which is a high-risk working area and not climate controlled.
