Job Responsibilities

• Job Title: Console Operator I or II
• Compensation (Range): / hour
  Level 1: 20-21.50
  Level 2: 22-24
• Location: Onsite - Charlotte, NC
• Department: Enterprise Security Command Center (ESCC)
• Shifts Available
• 1st Shift: 6:00 AM - 2:00 PM
• 2nd Shift: 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM
• 3rd Shift: 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM
• Days: Mon-Fri, Tue-Sat, or Wed-Sun
• Preference given to candidates open to night shifts, weekends, and Console Operator I rate.
• All candidates must be available to train on 1st shift for the first 4-6 weeks. Shift and schedule assignments will be made after training.
• Console Operators at the ESCC are responsible for monitoring and responding to electronic security systems across the Energy footprint. This includes alarm panels, intrusion detection, video surveillance, badge verification, and access control. Operators also manage gate access, handle high call volumes, maintain situational awareness, and perform other assigned duties.
• Monitor and respond to alarms and security events
• Maintain accurate logs and reports
• Perform data entry and follow established procedures
• Conduct basic investigations (video review, interviews, reporting)
• Communicate with internal teams and external stakeholders
• Use mass notification and incident management tools
• Support administrative and shift duties as needed

Job Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• 5 years of experience in a Security Operations Center, dispatch, law enforcement, or technical support with PACS (e.g., AMAG Symmetry)
• Preferred Qualifications:
• Degree in Criminal Justice, Criminology, or related field
• 3-5 years of relevant experience
• Strong customer service, multitasking, and communication skills
• Proficiency in MS Office
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays
• Must pass background check and drug screening
• High attention to detail and confidentiality
