Job Responsibilities

  • Compensation (Range): $33/hr
  • This position is responsible for being a liaison between residential contractors (Trade Allies) and the Duke Energy Residential Smart $aver incentive program to build business relationships and achieve program goals for performance and energy efficiency. The Sr. Energy Efficiency Specialist will build and maintain business relationships with the participating Trade Ally contractor base, distributors and manufacturers. In addition, this position will identify and recruit high-performing Trade Ally contractors for participation in the Find It Duke referral channel.
  • Develop, build and maintain positive business relationships with residential trade allies, manufacturers, distributors and builders in assigned geographic region. Act as single point-of-contact liaison between assigned trade allies and Residential Smart $aver / Find It Duke program,
  • Research, select, recruit and train trade allies on program requirements, terms and conditions, and performance criteria,
  • Manage trade ally performance including participation, customer service, quality inspections, and other key performance metrics as defined by program,
  • Research and resolve customer and/or trade ally concerns in a timely manner,
  • Responsible for developing communications to trade ally organizations to inform and educate regarding Residential Smart $aver program plans, activities and initiatives,
  • Perform on-site QA inspections at customer premises as needed to ensure program and regulatory compliance,



Job Requirements

  • 2-3 years sales experience in HVAC or in the home performance industry/residential energy efficiency industry.
  • Strong customer relations skills along with excellent communication skills are required.
  • Ability to work autonomously / independently.
  • Must be capable of climbing a 6 foot ladder, bending, lifting a minimum of 25lbs.
  • Education: 4 year B.S. or B.A. degree or 3-5 years of equivalent work experience.
  • BPI Building Analyst, Home Performance, RESNET or comparable certification is preferred.
  • 3-5 years of equivalent work experience in lieu of 4-year degree
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point)
  • Ability to operate hand tools, home performance diagnostic equipment
  • Operate motor vehicle safely with good driving background
  • Ability to diagnose HVAC systems using digital gauges.
