Hourly pay range $ 35-40
Job Responsibilities
- We are seeking a highly motivated Air Intake System Product Design and Release Engineer to join our dynamic team.
- In this role, you will be responsible for the design, development, validation, and release of air intake systems for internal combustion and hybrid electrified vehicles.
- This includes components such as low-pressure clean and dirty side ducts, air cleaners, make-up air hoses, resonators, air filters, brackets, and potentially high-pressure charge ducts.
- You will manage systems across all stages of development-from early packaging and design to validation and post-launch support-ensuring alignment with functional objectives at the component, engine, and vehicle levels.
- Design and develop air intake system components using CAD and CAE tools.
- Coordinate and track supplier progress, ensuring part maturity and milestone alignment.
- Lead and document DFMEA and DVP&R activities to mitigate design risks.
- Support sourcing activities and manage supplier relationships.
- Oversee prototyping, physical testing, and validation of components.
- Provide onsite support at engine and vehicle assembly plants as needed.
- Address quality concerns, validate process changes, and drive cost reduction initiatives post-launch.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to lead and manage suppliers.
- Capable of managing multiple concurrent projects.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Willingness to travel up to 20% (domestic and international).
- Working knowledge of air intake systems and components.
- Proficiency in CAD design and general knowledge of CATIA V5, Unigraphics NX, Vis Mockup, and TeamCenter.
- Familiarity with DFMEA, DVP&R, and Microsoft or Google Office tools.
- Ability to work independently in a hybrid or remote environment.
- 2+ years of experience with air intake systems or related engine/vehicle testing (e.g., NVH, Rise-Over Ambient, Water-fording).
- Experience with plastics manufacturing processes, especially injection and blow molding.
- Knowledge of Stellantis systems and processes.
- Green Belt certification or equivalent experience in DFSS (Design for Six Sigma).
- Familiarity with powertrain software and controls.
- Advanced proficiency in UG/NX CAD systems.
