Front End Web Developer

We are a leading staffing firm, and our clients include some over the nation's biggest companies. This is a 12- month contract position; however, it is not uncommon for assignments to transition into permanent positions with our client companies. Front End Web Developer- in Toronto, Ontario (HYBRID)
Pay range: $32.00 - $34.46/hr
SCHEDULE - Hybrid Position. 2 days/week in office. Tuesdays are mandatory in the office. Currently 2nd day is Thursday in the office.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree in Computer Science or related field
- Understanding of key design principles
- Proficiency with HTML, HTML5, CSS, CSS3, Web Programming, JavaScript, and jQuery
- Understanding of server-side CSS
- Knowledge and experience of CS Cart (DCS) tool will be a plus.
- Experience with graphic design applications such as Photoshop or Adobe Illustrator
- Experience with responsive and adaptive design
- Good understanding of SEO principles
- Good understanding of AODA/WCAG principles and familiarity with audit tools
- Good problem-solving skills
- Good verbal and interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a cross-functional environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintaining and refreshing content periodically on eCommerce enabled websites.
- Good understanding of SEO principles and ensuring that application will adhere to them.
- Ensuring content is AODA/WCAG2.1 compliant. Running WCAG audits in lower environments before publishing
- Ensuring the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs
- Ensuring user experience determines design choices.
- Implementing features to enhance the user experience.
- Ensuring web design is optimized for smartphones.
- Optimizing web pages for maximum speed and scalability
- Working closely with different stakeholders developing website-related requirements
- Follow up with technical teams on any changes relating to website.
- Working with business stakeholders on developing UAT scenarios and regression tests
