Front End Web Developer

This is a 12- month contract position; however, it is not uncommon for assignments to transition into permanent positions with our client companies. Front End Web Developer- in Toronto, Ontario (HYBRID)

Pay range: $32.00 - $34.46/hr

SCHEDULE - Hybrid Position. 2 days/week in office. Tuesdays are mandatory in the office. Currently 2nd day is Thursday in the office.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Degree in Computer Science or related field
• Understanding of key design principles
• Proficiency with HTML, HTML5, CSS, CSS3, Web Programming, JavaScript, and jQuery
• Understanding of server-side CSS
• Knowledge and experience of CS Cart (DCS) tool will be a plus.
• Experience with graphic design applications such as Photoshop or Adobe Illustrator
• Experience with responsive and adaptive design
• Good understanding of SEO principles
• Good understanding of AODA/WCAG principles and familiarity with audit tools
• Good problem-solving skills
• Good verbal and interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a cross-functional environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintaining and refreshing content periodically on eCommerce enabled websites.
• Good understanding of SEO principles and ensuring that application will adhere to them.
• Ensuring content is AODA/WCAG2.1 compliant. Running WCAG audits in lower environments before publishing
• Ensuring the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs
• Ensuring user experience determines design choices.
• Implementing features to enhance the user experience.
• Ensuring web design is optimized for smartphones.
• Optimizing web pages for maximum speed and scalability
• Working closely with different stakeholders developing website-related requirements
• Follow up with technical teams on any changes relating to website.
• Working with business stakeholders on developing UAT scenarios and regression tests
