Job Responsibilities

  • The System or Sub-System Family Manager (SFM/FM) plays a critical role in managing the timing, cost, and cross-functional coordination of propulsion system development.
  • This position ensures alignment between system and sub-system teams, supports governance processes, and drives cost and timing accountability throughout the program lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with the respective Chief to coordinate cross-functional teams (System Table / Sub-System Table).
  • Co-lead propulsion system development process (PSDP) governance, including milestone reviews, program reviews, and weekly updates.
  • Ensure timing and readiness for the assigned propulsion system perimeter, maintaining consistency across the complete Application Plan.
  • Partner with the Cost Manager to manage Total Product Cost (TPC), Engineering Research & Development (ER&D) spending, and Capital Expenditures (CAPEX).
  • If no dedicated Cost Manager is assigned, assume full responsibility for cost and budget management.
  • Support ER&D budget convergence in collaboration with PRS engineering, Planning, and VEMO for milestone approvals.
  • Follow PRS governance processes for approvals (PRS governance approval/GPCx).
  • Drive industrial synergies between conventional and hybrid propulsion variants with sub-system family managers.
  • Manage component change processes on behalf of the system chief.
  • Consolidate cost and timing data for global communications and program investigations.
  • Support vehicle application activities and technical functional requirement alignment with Sub-System Technical Managers (SSTM).
  • Participate in quality and value optimization reviews, including action and funding assessments.
  • Contribute to manufacturing readiness, production capacity planning, and supplier contract development.
  • Align with product strategy and roadmap initiatives.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering discipline from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in automotive product engineering or related technical fields.
  • Strong project management and planning skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Open, curious, and interdisciplinary mindset.
