Job Responsibilities

  • We are seeking motivated and experienced Group Leaders to join our manufacturing team in either Production or Quality/Global Supply Chain (GSC) functions.
  • These roles are essential to driving operational excellence, fostering teamwork, and supporting the advancement of manufacturing processes in a fast-paced, unionized environment.
  • Group Leaders will be responsible for leading teams of employees or technical personnel, managing daily operations, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
  • The work is technical in nature and requires independent judgment within the framework of established manufacturing systems, with a strong emphasis on Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness, Cost, and Environment (SPQRCE).
  • Lead and support teams in production or quality operations
  • Analyze and respond to the daily manufacturing plan
  • Manage multiple priorities and tasks in a dynamic environment
  • Navigate change and ambiguity effectively
  • Drive accountability through leadership and process management
  • Administer national and local labor agreements in a unionized setting
  • Promote and enforce safety protocols and compliance standards
  • Perform inspections, quality control, and problem-solving activities

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of direct supervisory experience or 5+ months as an internal per diem group leader
  • Proven experience managing teams and addressing performance issues
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and conflict management abilities
  • Basic computer proficiency (e.g., Microsoft Word, email)
  • Willingness to work weekends and rotating shifts
  • Knowledge of Continuous Improvement Processes (CIP)
  • Proficiency in Throughput Improvement Process (TIP)
  • Experience in manufacturing and assembly environments
  • Supervisory experience in a unionized setting
  • Background in Supply Chain or Quality
  • Familiarity with Built-in-Quality initiatives
  • Red X and DFSS Certification
  • Lean Manufacturing experience
  • Knowledge of timekeeping systems (Kronos)
