Maintenance Planner

Maintenance Planner, Waterloo, IA

Pay Range - $ 30-32/hr

Bartech has an excellent contract opportunity with John Deere client for a Materials Engineering Technician. As a Maintenance Planner located in Waterloo, IA, you will manage maintenance requests, prioritize tasks for skilled trades personnel, and coordinate parts and materials needed for repairs and upkeep. Additionally, this role will:

Job Description

• Initiate spare part determinations and setups for production and facilities equipment.
• Coordinate with external vendors for recurring and ad hoc maintenance activities.
• Lead or participate in cross-functional projects supporting equipment and facility maintenance.
• Prioritize and plan jobs for maintenance personnel, including preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Provide technical support by reviewing procedures and identifying necessary parts and tools.
• Source quotes and issue purchase orders for required parts and materials.
• Generate reports and monitor inventory levels to support cost reduction initiatives.
• Maintain preventative maintenance documentation to ensure machine uptime and compliance with OSHA/ANSI standards.

Job Requirements

• Proficiency with computer systems; experience with John Deere systems is a plus.
• Understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
• Ability to interpret drawings/schematics and apply geometric dimensioning.
• Familiarity with manufacturing/distribution processes, quality standards, safety protocols, and tooling
• 1-3 years of experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and other Office tools.
• 1-3 years in manufacturing and/or operations environments.
• 1-3 years of hands-on experience in electronics, mechanical, or hydraulic fields.
• AA, BA/BS, or equivalent experience in Engineering, Technology, or Maintenance-related fields.
• Demonstrated mechanical/electrical aptitude for general maintenance tasks.
• Comfortable working on the shop floor (approximately 30% of the time).
• Ability to operate personal and company vehicles as needed.
• Business casual dress code required.
• Metatarsal safety footwear required from day one.
