Job Responsibilities
Your specific duties as a Sr. Marine Product Planner will include:
- The Senior Marine Product Planner plays a critical role in shaping future marine products by analyzing market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscapes.
- Acting as the voice of the customer, this role drives strategic planning through comprehensive research and data-driven insights to support product lifecycle, sales, and development initiatives.
- Product Knowledge (10%)
- Maintain deep expertise in marine industry trends, including company and competitor product lineups, boat types, engine systems, and retail/wholesale ecosystems.
- Research (30%)
- Lead and support complex research initiatives, including trade shows, dealer visits, and customer engagements. Manage vendors, analyze data, and produce actionable reports.
- Analysis (30%)
- Compile and interpret primary and secondary data to uncover customer preferences, satisfaction drivers, and future product needs. Present findings through compelling visual reports.
- Product Planning (30%)
- Translate market data into clear product strategies. Define specifications, features, pricing, and target customer profiles. Collaborate with development and sales teams to align planning efforts.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree with 5 years of experience, or 8+ years of equivalent work experience.
- 5-10 years in marine products, with experience as a research analyst and/or product manager.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
- Familiarity with SPSS, Tableau, PowerBI (preferred)
- Strong analytical and storytelling abilities
- Excellent planning, project management, and communication skills
- Comfortable presenting to executives and cross-functional teams
Starting salary of minimum to $80K-85k below max depending on education, skills, experience and level of experience
