Hourly pay range: $50 - $53.00/hour
Location: Ann Arbor, MI
Job Responsibilities
Your specific duties as an ADAS Design Engineer will include:
- Develop systems and applications for future ADAS (Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems) for North American developed vehicles.
- Create business cases and identify customer needs for ADAS through data-driven assessments.
- Engineer system/functional performance requirements and hardware/software requirements for ADAS integration into vehicle platforms.
- Publish engineering requirements/specifications.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to commercialize high-quality ADAS into mass production vehicles.
- Design and develop software in Python/C++ languages in Linux OS.
- Verify functionality to meet customer requirements.
- Propose innovative ideas and assess technology, market, and social trends to drive new ADAS feature development.
- Manage project schedules, open issues, deliverables, and visualize project status.
- Summarize data logically to create visualized reports for technical storytelling and communicate proactively with stakeholders and management.
- Lead feature evaluations in simulated, closed-track, and public-road environments.
- Manage KPIs and suggest performance improvements.
Job Requirements
What you bring:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Robotics Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
- 5+ years of experience developing functional/system requirements for vehicle software applications.
- 1+ year experience with automotive/robotic sensor technology (e.g., camera, radar).
- 1+ year experience with design FMEA/FTA/DRBFM and root-cause investigation.
- 3+ years of strong software development experience in Python/C++ in Linux OS.
- Excellent project and time management skills.
- Experience in software development and design architecture.
- Strong presentation skills for international audiences.
- Experience building business cases for new technology.
What you may bring:
- Master's degree in relevant engineering fields.
- Experience in ADS technologies.
- Experience deriving technical specifications for automotive camera systems and HMI screen layouts.
- Experience with LVDS camera communications.
- Experience validating functional performance through vehicle or test bench evaluations.
