Hourly pay range $ 67-69
Job Responsibilities
Your specific duties as an Engineer- Transmission Protection & Controls will include:
- The Transmission Protection & Controls (P&C) Scoper manages engineering work with minimal supervision.
- This role requires advanced technical skills and the ability to work independently, with guidance provided only for complex or unusual projects.
- The Scoper identifies problems, develops solutions, and takes initiative to resolve issues while ensuring compliance with regulatory and company standards.
- Develop the electrical scope of work for capital improvement projects, ensuring constructability and compliance with industry and comapny standards.
- Evaluate substation yard and control house impacts.
- Specify major equipment changes, cable types, relays, and panel layouts.
- Assess telecom requirements and identify necessary equipment and materials.
- Provide technical expertise in identifying, analyzing, and resolving complex engineering problems.
- Collaborate with stakeholders (Construction, Maintenance, Project Management, Planning, Operations) to align project scopes with operational needs.
- Conduct site visits to assess current conditions and planned changes.
- Prepare technical reports, documentation, calculations, and sketches.
- Independently manage project schedules and deliverables.
- Maintain accurate records and support company goals with professionalism.
Job Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program (Master's degree may substitute).
- Minimum 4 years of engineering experience.
- Minimum 6 years of engineering experience, or 5 years with a Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- PE license required.
- Proficiency in protection settings and control design for various substation types.
- Familiarity with SPCC plans and secondary oil containment design.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication.
- Experience in the utility industry and project management principles.
- Ability to work with diverse teams and stakeholders.
