STA Engineer

Hourly Pay Rate: $46.06
Location: Chicago, IL
Travel Requirement: Up to 75% across the US, Canada, and Mexico

Job Responsibilities

· Implement commodity-specific business plans to ensure supplier performance across launch, quality, capacity, warranty, and delivery metrics
· Lead cross-functional decision-making with Ford and supplier leadership to resolve open issues
· Serve as the principal on-site resource for emergency supplier troubleshooting and corrective actions
· Drive adherence to Ford standards, including Q1 certification
· Assess and validate manufacturing feasibility at supplier sites
· Execute Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP)
· Use data and metrics to inform future sourcing decisions and improve quality outcomes

Job Requirements

· Strong knowledge of quality management, problem-solving, APQP, and PPAP processes
· Ability to lead resolution of manufacturing, quality, and capacity issues on-site
· Skilled in developing and presenting materials to leadership on short notice
· Minimum 5 years of experience in one or more manufacturing processes, including:

• Casting, Machining, Forging, Stamping, Welding
• Plastic/Rubber Molding, Brazing, Sintering
• Automated/Manual Assembly, Controls Automation Programming
• Paint, Chroming, Sheet Molding Compound (SMC)
  · Bachelor's degree or equivalent technical/manufacturing aptitude

Preferred Qualifications

· Bachelor of Science in Engineering
· Experience in manufacturing, maintenance, and quality operations
