Design Release Engineer

Our client has engaged us to assist them in hiring a contract Design Release Engineer. Hourly pay range $45.00-$47.00
Occasional Travel to Auburn hills, MI / Mexico Requested (if possible)

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work with designers to package wiring harnesses in vehicles using client's design guidelines.
• Support vehicle builds events at Customer sites. Specifically, client's Windsor Assembly plant Act as company representative when other engineers are not present.
• Incorporate DFM (Design for Manufacturability) guidelines into the design.
• Support Cost reduction initiatives
• Specify, document, and coordinate engineering changes.
• Issue documentation to authorize design changes and track cost.
• Review warranty claims to identify design improvements

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
* 3 Years of experience.
* Education level: Bachelor's degree in engineering. Electrical or Mechanical preferred.

PREFERRED SKILLS
* Logical thinking to solve design issues.
* Good communication skills.
* Open-minded personality to deal with a very dynamic customer.
* Knowledgeable of Microsoft Office products
* Occasional travel to Manufacturing plants in Mexico (if possible.)
* Segment Signal and Power Solutions United States EDS
* Ability to work from home when Assembly plant support is not needed.
* Expected to attend meetings in person in Auburn Hills on occasion (if possible)
* Occasional Saturday work with Overtime pay.
