Hourly Pay Range: $30-$32


Job Responsibilities

  • Assemble and disassemble engines per engineering specifications
  • Mount and align engines on dynamometer test pallets
  • Route and connect fuel, coolant, exhaust, air intake, and electrical systems
  • Install and calibrate sensors (e.g., thermocouples, pressure transducers, flow meters, torque/speed sensors)
  • Ensure proper signal conditioning and connectivity with data acquisition systems
  • Conduct routine maintenance on test pallets and dynamometer equipment
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware and sensor issues during test preparation and execution
  • Collaborate with test engineers, instrumentation technicians, and quality teams
  • Adhere to EHS protocols and testing standards (e.g., ISO 17025, EPA 1065/40 CFR Part 1065, Euro VI)
  • Operate engine dynamometer systems for durability, performance, and emissions testing
  • Monitor test progress, log parameters, and follow safety protocols
  • Ensure accurate data collection and integrity throughout the test cycle
  • Perform pre- and post-test checks for anomalies and equipment health
  • Document test results and report abnormal engine behaviors to engineering staff

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or associate degree in automotive technology, mechanical engineering, or related field (technical certificate/apprenticeship acceptable with experience)
  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in engine dynamometer testing or engine test lab operations
  • Strong understanding of internal combustion engines and mechanical systems
  • Proficiency in sensor setup (temperature, pressure, flow, torque, etc.)
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Flexibility to work shifts or overtime as needed
  • Familiarity with test automation platforms (e.g., AVL PUMA, INCA, NI LabVIEW/TestStand) is a plus
