Hourly pay range $ 25-30

Major Purpose:

Provide daily operational support for a computing environment-such as a computer center, departmental systems, or a user community-to ensure smooth and efficient functioning. This role involves a mix of basic technical tasks and administrative duties, following well-established procedures. Responsibilities include monitoring stable processes, making decisions from predefined options, and applying foundational technical knowledge.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor computing operations (e.g., mainframe job networks), identify issues, and resolve them using documented procedures and predefined decision paths.
  • Document and distribute operational information, such as process statistics, incident reports, and updates to customer or system data.
  • Maintain equipment, supplies, and data supporting operational processes, including scheduling maintenance, ordering supplies, and updating inventory records.
  • Create and manage basic documentation and records, such as contact lists, process logs, purchase orders, and service records.
  • Recognize and resolve routine problems using established solutions; escalate issues outside the scope of responsibility.
  • Assist with basic technical tasks, such as installing software updates, performing routine hardware maintenance, and troubleshooting user issues using provided scripts or procedures.
  • Support effective communication via email and maintain organized digital files and records.

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Proficiency in standard desktop applications (e.g., Microsoft Office), intranet, and internet tools.
  • General understanding of computer security policies and concepts.
  • Basic knowledge of computing and networking fundamentals.

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Degree in Information Technology or related discipline preferred, or equivalent experience.

Experience:

  • Less than 1 year of experience in information technology or related business operations.
