Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Category Manager to oversee procurement and supplier relationships for our Tower Operations team. This role will lead strategic sourcing initiatives, manage a significant spend portfolio, and ensure alignment of supply chain practices with business goals. The ideal candidate will possess strong negotiation, analytical, and relationship-building skills and bring expertise in general construction, vegetation management, and tower operations. This is a hybrid role based in either Chandler, AZ or Houston, TX.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a $65M annual spend portfolio for Tower Operations, including general construction, vegetation management, lighting, and safety services.
  • Lead development and execution of sourcing strategies that align with business objectives, emphasizing cost and quality improvement.
  • Collaborate with Tower Operations, Procurement, and related departments to synchronize supply chain processes with project time lines.
  • Conduct procurement events (RFX) in Coupa, prepare bid analyses, present recommendations, and execute awards in line with team decisions.
  • Oversee contract management in partnership with legal, business leaders, and suppliers.
  • Develop and implement supplier initiatives to drive continuous improvement and ensure high performance.
  • Identify and address supply chain risks, proactively mitigating potential business continuity issues.
  • Lead change management for new sourcing programs and ensure achievement of savings and supplier performance targets.
  • Analyze spending and supply data to guide business decisions and strategy.
  • Build and maintain strong cross-functional and vendor relationships.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Supply Chain Sourcing or Tower Design, Construction, or Operations.
  • Deep knowledge of tower operations categories (e.g., construction, vegetation management, lighting, safety equipment).
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience negotiating and managing supplier contracts, including crafting/redlining agreements.
  • Analytical and data-driven decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency with spend management platforms (JDE, Coupa, or similar).
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with proven ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
