Hourly Pay Range: $28-$30/hour

Job Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary contact for Engineering Maintenance and Technical Support activities.
  • Monitor and report on ongoing tasks, escalating issues as needed.
  • Provide technical support to internal teams and suppliers.
  • Develop and execute preventative maintenance plans for lab infrastructure.
  • Troubleshoot and repair lab systems including HVACHVAC, electrical, plumbing, and machinery.
  • Stay current on test equipment technologies and ensure safe operation and maintenance.

Job Requirements


Minimum Requirements:
  • Associate's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with MaximoMaximo for preventive maintenance planning and execution.
  • Ability to work independently in a complex environment.
  • Familiarity with emissions testing equipment and building management systems.
  • Strong diagnostic skills using P&ID, one-line, electrical, and control diagrams.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 7+ years in a mechanical service role.
  • Knowledge of wind tunnel systems and mechanical pump circuits.
  • Experience with steam, humidity control, RORO and CAP DI systems.
  • Exposure to predictive maintenance tools (vibration, ultrasonic, thermal imaging).
  • Familiarity with ISO 17025 or ISO 9001 environments.

Must-Have Skills (Ranked):
  1. HVACHVAC experience / Electrical expertise
  2. Machine repair or support systems knowledge
  3. 5-75-7 years of relevant experience

Job Description - Ensure Alignment to Selected Title
Work location - MI - Milford Proving Ground - 3300 General Motors Road - Bldg 31- GPS EGPSmissions

This job is based in General Motors' MMotors'ilford Proving Grounds Energy and Emissions Laboratories. The lab and results it produces are used by GM's gGM'srowing team of engineers in support of the vision of a world with Zero Crashes, Zero Emissions and Zero Congestion.

The Technician role is a good fit for a qualified individual who is interested in state-of-the-art technologies and testing methods, system-level integration, and related equipment in a laboratory setting.

* Serve as the single point contact to internal and external stakeholders for Engineering Maintenance and Technical support related activities, including day-to-day operations and future planning initiatives
* Monitor ongoing tasks, providing regular status reports to stakeholders and leadership while proactively identifying and escalating roadblocks when appropriate
* Act as a technical resource to internal and supplier teams in all aspects of Engineering Maintenance and Technical Support
* Ability to create, launch, and execute a preventative equipment maintenance system and related plans for key facility infrastructure supporting testing activities
* Troubleshooting and repair of laboratory infrastructure specifically supporting the testing activities (process HVAC, HVACmachine repair, electrical distribution and plumbing disciplines).
* Maintain awareness of the latest test equipment and technology, including commissioning, safe operating procedures, and maintenance requirements

Qualifications
Minimum
* Associate's degree or equivalent experience
* Demonstrated knowledge and experience with Maximo aMaximos used for Preventive maintenance, planning and execution
* Demonstrated ability to work with a high level of autonomy in a complex environment, managing multiple maintenance events, by establishing priorities and executing with minimal supervision
* Experience with equipment used in Emissions Development and Certification testing (Building and Process)
* Experience utilizing butilizinguilding management systems for diagnosis and troubleshooting overall operation
* Experience working with equipment suppliers and installation contractors
* Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a multi-dmultiisciplinary team, where issues are complex in nature
* Ability to read and interpret P&ID/One line/ Electrical and Control diagrams for use in diagnosis and troubleshooting of hardware

Preferred
* 7 years of related experience in mechanical service role
* Understand wind tunnel design, operation, and troubleshooting
* Understanding of theory, operation, and application of mechanical pump circuits, steam, humidity control, Reverse Osmosis and CAP DI systems used to support process operation
* Vibration data collection, ultrasonic testing, and thermal imaging exposure to be used in predictive maintenance programs
* Familiar with service, PM and mechanical door operations
* Experience with equipment maintenance processes in an industrial setting
* Experience working in an ISO 17025 or ISO 9001 accredited environment

The Technician reports to the Group Leader of the Engineering Maintenance and Technical Support (EMT) support organization. organizationThe EMT team is primarily responsible for specifying, sourcing, engineering, integrating, safely commissioning and developing a robust maintenance model for test equipment within the lab. Daily breakdown - they will receive a lot of hands on training, they will be on the floor wrenching fixing things, mechanical second floor is what the focus of their work will be, fork truck rigging operation

60% planned maintenance
40% unplanned maintenance (something breaks and they need to troubleshoot it)
