Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced eDrive Test Engineer to join our team, responsible for testing and validating electric machines, inverters, and related components for advanced eDrive systems. This fully onsite role involves hands-on work in a dynamic test lab environment, preparing and executing tests, developing procedures, and collaborating with diverse engineering teams to ensure reliability, safety, and performance of our electrified drive products.

Responsibilities

  • Test electrical machines, inverters, subcomponents, and related systems in a lab environment
  • Prepare test articles and setups, including wiring harness assembly, instrumentation, and fixture fabrication
  • Operate test cells with equipment such as dynamometers, variable frequency drives, battery simulators, active/passive loads, oil conditioning units, and thermal chambers
  • Set up and operate data acquisition systems to record temperature, voltage, current, power, torque, vibration, and pressure
  • Interface with microcontrollers for control unit tuning and calibration
  • Conduct manual and automated tests in accordance with test plans, user guides, and safety protocols
  • Complete test requests, working with technicians and facility services for setup support
  • Build data post-processing tools and generate comprehensive test reports
  • Contribute to lab projects for new or upgraded equipment and processes
  • Develop test procedures, work instructions, and project engineering documentation
  • Design test setups for both standard and custom test methods, collaborating with fabrication shops and vendors
  • Present findings and progress to cross-functional teams and leadership
  • Ensure compliance with lab safety and operational processes

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (required)
  • 3+ years of experience in a test laboratory environment
  • 1+ year of experience with electric motors and/or inverter systems
  • 1+ year of hands-on experience using power and hand tools for assembly, fixture, and teardown tasks
  • 1+ year of experience working with dynamometer systems (e.g., ADACs, REPS, AVL, Horiba, Siemens, Webasto)
  • 1+ year of experience with data acquisition systems (e.g., ATI, IMC, NI, AVL, Yokogawa)
  • Experience with post-processing and simulation software (e.g., Matlab, Scilab, GNU Octave, Python, LabVIEW)
  • Problem-solving skills for diagnostics in a test lab environment
  • Familiarity with building and reading CAD drawings, wiring diagrams, and schematics
