Hourly pay range $ 38-42
Job Summary
Assists with the design, improvement, and installation of integrated manufacturing or administrative systems that utilize people, materials, information, equipment, and energy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assists with the creation of standard work methods for new and existing production lines
  • Assists with the design of safe and efficient workstations for manufacturing environments, using plant layout, ergonomic, and workstation design principles
  • Assists with cost analysis on make vs. buy decisions for components or sub-assemblies

  • Ergonomic Fundamentals: Applies Cummins ergonomic standards, guidelines, controls, and tools to reduce ergonomic risk to employees

  • Line Balancing: Evaluates work activities to optimize operating time and distribute work content to meet changing customer demands
  • Manufacturing Analysis Led Design: Uses digital tools to model and simulate manufacturing processes, equipment, and performance for data-driven decision-making
  • Manufacturing Knowledge: Implements changes in current processes, equipment, and applications to meet functional needs and drive continuous improvement
  • Process Layout: Creates or modifies optimized manufacturing processes by integrating equipment, human interfaces, production steps, and facility requirements
  • Work Measurement: Breaks down processes into detailed steps to identify and reduce waste, and redistribute work content to optimize flow
  • Values Differences: Recognizes the value that different perspectives and cultures bring to an organization
  • Collaborates: Builds partnerships and works collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives
  • Continuous Process Improvement: Implements process improvement and waste reduction methodologies to reduce cost and improve quality
  • Drawing Interpretation: Integrates product design and manufacturing equipment drawings to support optimal process development
  • Industrial Engineering Knowledge: Applies industrial engineering techniques through comprehensive and quantitative analysis to improve manufacturing processes


Job Requirements
Must-Have Skills and Experience

  • Experience working on continuous improvement projects
  • Experience with data analytics and report building
  • Prior work experience in a similar role


Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Mechanical, or degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) or related field, or equivalent experience required.
  • This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
  • Master's degree preferred
