Hourly Pay Range: $30-$35

Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Strategic Sourcing Specialist to support and potentially lead our commodity sourcing team. In this role, you will develop and implement sourcing strategies, build and maintain supplier relationships, ensure quality and timely delivery of materials and services, and drive supplier performance and continuous process improvements in compliance with organizational standards.

Responsibilities

  • Support and, when appropriate, lead a strategic sourcing team focused on designated commodities and materials
  • Develop and implement sourcing strategies for various business units or regions
  • Build and manage relationships with suppliers for less complex and strategic goods and services
  • Ensure supplier quality, on-time delivery, and overall performance
  • Address and resolve recurring supplier performance issues, including validation of new suppliers
  • Coordinate and facilitate supplier quality planning and continuous improvement activities
  • Analyze supplier and process data using established tools and methods
  • Plan and conduct testing and inspection of products and processes, monitor corrective actions, and ensure their effectiveness
  • Contribute to operational reviews and generate ideas for process improvements
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, procedures, and external regulations; seek approval for any exceptions
  • Resolve complex queries from internal or external stakeholders, escalating the most complex cases to management
  • Provide expert support on departmental systems and documentation, helping colleagues improve related processes

Requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and data interpretation abilities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and departmental databases
  • Ability to organize, plan, and execute tasks independently
  • Experience in supplier management and continuous improvement strategies
  • Customer-focused with effective problem-solving skills
  • Basic experience supervising or coordinating the work of others is an advantage
  • Understanding of compliance management and policy regulations
  • Completion of a short-cycle tertiary education program (e.g., associate degree or similar)
