TPMS Development Engineer - Dearborn, MI

Our client has engaged us to assist them in hiring a contract TPMS Development Engineer. Hourly pay range $45-$46/hr
Location: Dearborn, MI
Duration: Long-Term Contract (W2)
Schedule: In-office Monday-Thursday; Friday flexible based on business needs.


Job Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the lead engineer to manage a subset of parts and requirements.
  • Lead design reviews with internal teams and external suppliers.
  • Develop and review quality documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with FMVSS, ECE, and other regulatory/legal requirements, including RF certification and homologation.
  • Optimize receiver module packaging for RF reception.
  • Develop and execute Design Verification Plans (DVP) for TPMS systems on bench, HIL, and vehicle per program milestones (DCV, PEC, FEC, etc.).
  • Track issues and status in FEDE and JIRA.
  • Support program launches by leading issue resolution and presenting status updates to management.
  • Collaborate with Chassis and Vehicle Operations teams to meet interface and assembly requirements.
  • Travel to supplier facilities and Ford assembly plants as needed for design reviews, product launches, APQP, and PPAP approval.
  • Additional responsibilities may include: FEDE BOM, Netcom Message List, ARXML, Device Transmittal, VSCS, ED&T and Mountain Charts, ESOW.

Job Requirements


Skills Required:

  • Application Testing: Develop and execute DVP for TPMS on bench, HIL, and vehicle per program milestones. Track status/issues in FEDE and JIRA.
  • Product Design: Develop and review quality documentation. Ensure compliance with FMVSS, ECE, and RF certification requirements. Verify and release configurable parameters.


Skills Preferred:

  • Electrical Engineering background.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in design and testing of automotive electrical systems (hardware, software, and systems).


Experience Required:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience with automotive electrical systems design and testing.


Experience Preferred:

  • Familiarity with vehicle network tools (e.g., CANalyzer).
  • Experience with wireless technology development/testing is a plus.


Education:

  • Required: Bachelor's Degree
  • Preferred: Electrical Engineering or related field
