Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Engineer to support manufacturing and product development processes. This role involves analyzing manufacturing methods, designing engineering solutions, coordinating inspections, and working closely with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure quality and compliance standards are met. You will also contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and provide guidance on knowledge management systems in a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist in analyzing information and specifying methods, process steps, equipment, and systems to improve manufacturing and materials processes, ensuring quality and cost standards are met
- Participate in designing engineering solutions and supervise feasibility tests to validate new processes and products
- Support drafting and evaluation of engineering standards and specifications, tracking their effectiveness
- Conduct inspections under guidance of senior engineers to assess quality and integrity of installations or structures, recommending corrective actions as needed
- Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers, acting as the primary contact and ensuring adherence to contract management plans
- Identify deficiencies in existing processes and support change management initiatives
- Help team members utilize knowledge management systems through support and guidance
- Analyze customer needs, define requirements, and deliver engineering solutions using established systems
- Follow project management plans to achieve defined objectives
- Engage in ongoing professional development, including training, coaching, and maintaining relevant certifications
- Stay current with relevant technologies, regulations, and industry best practices
Requirements
- Experience in quality engineering within manufacturing or product development environments
- Knowledge of engineering design, development, and testing processes
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Understanding of project management and contract management principles
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including negotiation abilities
- Familiarity with quality standards, health and safety, and regulatory compliance
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external suppliers
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience
