Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Exterior Automotive Design Engineer to develop and design plastic and metal exterior components for automotive products, including bumpers, fascias, grills, wheel liners, and other exterior trim. This role combines technical expertise in NX and Teamcenter CAD software with creativity and collaboration, working closely with engineering and design teams to bring products from concept through production in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Design and release exterior plastic components such as bumpers, fascias, grills, and trim
• Use NX CAD software to model, integrate, and execute part designs
• Develop and integrate design solutions from concept through production using NX and Teamcenter
• Collaborate with studio and engineering teams to propose and develop refined solutions
• Complete high-quality, parametric designs to meet project deadlines
• Prepare sketches, detailed drawings, and blueprints using computer-aided design tools
• Refine designs based on customer feedback, production limitations, and emerging trends
• Coordinate visual and functional aspects of product lines
• Communicate with engineering, marketing, production, and sales teams to evaluate design concepts
• Stay current on design innovations and competitor trends

Requirements

• Hands-on proficiency with NX and Teamcenter
• Strong knowledge of design techniques, tools, and production methods for plastic components
• Creativity with strong oral and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and solve problems in a fast-paced environment
• Experience using Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop), CAD, and graphic software
• Familiarity with design layout creation and image generation
• Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple teams
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Design, Architecture, or related field preferred
• 5-7 years of relevant experience required (8-10 years preferred for senior-level candidates)
