Our client has engaged us to assist them in hiring a contract Manufacturing Engineer at John Deere. Hourly pay range $ 30-36/HR, based on experience

Job Responsibilities

• Carry out a range of activities under the guidance of more senior colleagues to support the analysis of information and the specification of the methods and process steps, as well as the plant, machinery, and equipment, required to design and continuously improve manufacturing or materials processes and process systems.
• Contribute to the development of, and implement feasibility testing of, proposed engineering solutions to provide feedback and data to validate the design.
• Carry out a range of activities under the guidance of more senior colleagues to support the drafting of engineering standards and specifications and the evaluation of the effectiveness of those standards.
• Carry out inspections under the supervision of senior colleagues to evaluate the quality of engineering works and/or the integrity of existing installations or structures and make recommendations to senior colleagues on the remedial works needed to ensure conformance with specifications and regulatory requirements.
• Deliver required outcomes by coordinating activities of subcontractors and suppliers and acting as a primary point of contact for them while working within an established contract management plan.
• Identify shortcomings in existing processes, systems, and procedures, and use established change management programs to address them.
• Help others get the most out of knowledge management systems by offering support and advice.
• Carry out a range of product development and engineering activities. Use established systems to analyze customer needs and define and deliver products.
• Work within an established project management plan to achieve specific goals.
• Develop own capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching; gain or maintain external professional accreditation, where relevant, to improve performance and fulfill personal potential.
• Maintain an understanding of relevant technology, external regulation, and industry best practices through ongoing education, attending conferences, and reading specialist media
  
  

Job Requirements

Physical Requirements:
* ~70% time spent on feet within the factory.
* Will drive a John Deere Gator inside the factory (after safety training is completed).
* May use personal vehicle for traveling to other Waterloo facilities.

Key Skills & Experience Required:
* Degree in Industrial Technology or Engineering
* Open to recent grad candidates with manufacturing internships
* Prefer candidates with:
* Software programming experience
* Hands on experience working in a manufacturing environment
* Great decision making skills

Other Notes:
* Visa sponsorship is not available, now or in the future, for this position
* Fully onsite; candidate must be comfortable with factory environment and occasional intra-facility travel
