Hourly pay range $37.50 - $39.50/hr.
Job Responsibilities

  • Consult with personnel performing maintenance, repair, and capital improvement activities, including:
    • Engineers
    • Substation Electric Maintenance Journeymen (EMJs)
    • Apprentices
    • Riggers/Ironworkers
    • Project Managers
  • Perform all phases of the job planning process to ensure timely project completion in compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
  • Ensure appropriate construction equipment and materials are acquired and distributed from warehouses to electric substation job sites for:
    • Maintenance
    • Repair
    • New construction
    • Other development projects
  • Participate in assessing substation equipment or building problems and collaborate on best approaches for:
    • Protection
    • Maintenance
    • Repair
  • Determine if requested materials or work packages are correct and appropriate.
  • Travel within the company's service area as required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Substation experience and knowledge.
  • Proficiency in relevant software applications, including:
    • MAXIMO
    • SAP
    • PRIMAVERA
    • Microsoft Office Suite

Required Qualifications

  • Ability and experience to read and interpret blueprints and electric schematic drawings.
  • Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills; ability to communicate effectively at all organizational levels.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills to identify key issues and recommend optimal solutions.
  • Ability to work in a team or matrix structure, supporting multiple clients and applying appropriate procedures and policies.
  • Adherence to all safety regulations and standards.
  • Regular travel to substations, warehouses, and repair sites to assess project and material needs; frequent site visits required.
  • Working knowledge of:
    • CRT/keyboard usage
    • Desktop publishing
    • Data entry
    • Internal customer service
    • PC applications (spreadsheets, graphics, database managers)
  • Advanced knowledge of:
    • Technical illustration/computer-aided design
    • Telephone skills

Education & Experience Requirements

  • Option 1: Associate degree or Technical Diploma in engineering and five years of experience in electrical distribution systems engineering or operations.
  • Option 2: Associate degree or Technical Diploma in engineering and three years of experience in a job planning function.
  • Option 3: High School diploma or GED and 3+ years of experience (including apprenticeship) in:
    • Electrical maintenance journeyman
    • Substation operator
