Location: Dearborn, MI
Duration: Long-term contract
Hourly pay range: $44-$46/hr (includes PTO and paid holidays)
Travel: Up to 70% to supplier sites
Job Responsibilities
- Lead knowledge development and problem-solving across the STA organization.
- Act as a subject matter expert in problem-solving techniques and tools, providing technical support, coaching, and training.
- Deliver training and coaching to STA team members on problem-solving methodologies.
- Drive use of triage scripts for critical issues and support Stage 3 disputes with objective analysis.
- Provide cradle-to-grave FASS/PAC support for VHM-specific projects.
- Perform engineering analysis and duties:
- Apply process engineering skills to troubleshoot part and system issues.
- Conduct CAE analysis, free-body diagrams, stress/strain calculations, and flow rate analysis.
- Analyze chemical reactions, electrical diagrams, and material properties.
- Perform reliability engineering using Weibull and other statistical distributions.
- Utilize Ford's warranty systems and databases to identify and prioritize issues.
- Apply Strategic Problem Solving and Six Sigma methodologies (DOE, regression, hypothesis testing, MSA, etc.).
- Drive systemic root cause analysis using 3x5 Why and implement systemic improvements.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field.
- 2+ years in plant manufacturing.
- Black Belt certification (preferred).
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Minitab.
- Ability to present to senior leadership under short timelines.
- Fluent in English and Spanish.
- Quality Management, Problem Solving (including PPAP, APQP), Six Sigma Methodology, Troubleshooting and Data Analysis.
- Preferred: Electrical and physics knowledge, big data analysis, experience with complex assignments and tight timelines, knowledge of manufacturing processes and quality tools.
