Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Systems Engineer to lead the development, design, and validation of Passenger Occupant Detection Systems (PODS). In this role, you will analyze customer requirements, develop robust system designs, and ensure alignment with both customer expectations and business objectives. You will support the end-to-end engineering process, collaborating with customers and internal teams to deliver innovative, high-quality vehicle occupant detection solutions.
Responsibilities
- Gather and analyze customer requirements for occupant detection systems
- Develop system designs that address customer needs and comply with business objectives
- Apply best practices and industry product roadmaps to each project
- Act as the primary technical interface with customers and product team members
- Manage technical communication and conduct design reviews, ensuring adherence to ASPICE processes
- Serve as a final approver and technical expert during internal system peer reviews
- Develop system architectures, including hardware and software components and interfaces
- Oversee verification activities at system and ECU levels, including laboratory and vehicle testing
- Identify and escalate exceptions to established system architectures
- Maximize reuse of system solutions across various projects and customers
- Maintain and manage key technical documentation and parameter charts for each customer application
Requirements
- Experience in systems engineering, particularly in automotive or electronic systems
- Understanding of customer-facing projects and ability to translate requirements into technical specifications
- Familiarity with occupant detection systems, pressure sensor signal processing, and related vehicle electronics
- Experience with tools such as Polarion/Doors, JIRA, Vector CANoe, PDAQ/Saint, and SWIT
- Knowledge of standards and protocols including ISO26262, Cyber-Security (AUTOSAR), UDS-ISO14229, and CAN
- Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field
- Advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., in systems engineering, automotive safety) a plus
