Hourly pay range $77 - $80/hr.
Can be based in the following locations: Raleigh, NC; Semora, NC; or Roxboro, NC
Role Summary:
Project Manager serves as the single point of accountability or works under the general direction of a Project Director or Senior Project Manager. This role manages or assists in managing all phases of project planning and execution to ensure success factors are met, including scope, schedule, cost, quality, environmental, safety, communications, security, and integration.
Project Scope:
- Typically assigned a portfolio of White or Green ranked projects per the Project Management Center of Excellence Risk-Informed Project Ranking Process.
- Accountable for projects with Low to Moderate risk impacting various levels of the company, senior management, or external agencies.
- May be assigned projects with specific risk-informed requirements based on experience and skill set.
- Acts as a unifying agent providing leadership, decision-making, guidance, coordination, and control of projects in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership & Coordination
- Provide leadership, oversight, and delegation to internal and external organizations supporting the project (engineering, project controls, estimating, construction management, supply chain, legal, EHS, QA/QC, operations, communications, regulatory, security, fuels, transmission, etc.).
- Structure, lead, and/or assist in leading all project-related meetings and reports to ensure open communication among team members, stakeholders, and management (e.g., monthly project reviews, kickoff meetings).
- Present project status reports to appropriate management/governance teams effectively.
- Project Planning
- Plan assigned projects including scope, schedule, cost, safety, quality, and closeout.
- Define scope, develop estimates, create and monitor schedules, and implement cost control measures.
- Develop procurement and contracting strategies, select equipment and vendors, and create start-up and commissioning plans.
- Manage integration processes such as turnover to operations and warranty management.
- Project Execution
- Execute projects with a focus on Event-Free Operations and Operational Quality.
- Ensure delivery according to plan within defined scope, cost, and schedule limits.
- Success Factors
- Effective communication and coordination across multiple teams.
- Adherence to company policies, systems, and requirements.
- Delivery of projects within established scope, schedule, and budget constraints.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED, Associate Degree or Bachelor's Degree Preferred
- 5 - 10+ years' of project management experience
- Utility industry experience preferred
