Hourly pay range $ 44-46/hr
Role Overview
This position focuses on gear machining launch process engineering. You will collaborate with the headquarters launch team and suppliers to ensure successful delivery of manufacturing lines that meet key business metrics for long-term success.
Key Responsibilities
- Support manufacturing process engineering for gear machining operations.
- Drive continuous improvement in safety, quality, and productivity.
- Complete all PPAP quality launch documentation.
- Apply engineering principles to establish and improve manufacturing processes and products.
- Develop action plans to investigate and resolve open issues; verify corrective actions internally and with suppliers.
- Lead and conduct process audits to ensure compliance with Powertrain guidelines.
- Perform ergonomic evaluations and implement corrective actions.
- Create process and instruction sheets supporting quality methods.
- Deliver capable processes and tools for gear machining operations.
- Lead variability reduction, lean manufacturing initiatives, and best practices.
- Ensure compliance with Plant, Corporate, Governmental, and Environmental standards.
- Support ISO 14001 compliance and internal auditing.
- Identify throughput constraints and implement root cause improvements to achieve Rate of Climb targets.

Required Experience & Education
- Education: High School Diploma / GED
- Experience: 5+ years of related experience
- Demonstrated leadership aligned with ONE FORD behaviors, strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Preferred Experience & Education
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- Experience:
- Hypoid Bevel process understanding (blanking, milling, grinding, heat treat, shot peening)
- Quality Assessment tools (QDAS, Minitab)
- Klingelnberg P40 & Gleason Nano Gear CMM
- Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma experience
- Problem-solving tools: 8D, 5Why
- Lean tools: 5S, Kanban, Poka-yoke, Value Stream Mapping
- DMAIC and DMADV (DFSS) methodology
- FMEA, PPAP, and DOE experience
