Job Title: Battery Energy Storage Systems - BESS Design Engineer
Location: Remote
Pay Rate: $78.00 per hour on W2 (no corp-to-corp)

• Battery Energy Storage Systems - BESS Design Engineering - planning, designing, and executing various aspects of energy storage projects.
• This involves exploration of subject area, definition of scope, engineering oversight, and consulting across cross functional teams to deliver a best-in-class product.
• Support design phase and engineer major components for large-scale energy storage projects.
• Recognize inconsistencies in engineering drawings, take corrective action, and strive for better design quality and efficiency.
• Identify and resolve errors in engineering studies and suggest future solutions.
• Prepare technical scopes of work for contracts.
• Support projects from inception to completion by working closely with project managers.
• Influence project teams on engineering tasks.
• Stay updated on project progress and technical issues.
• Manage project milestones and recognize risks.

Required

• Bachelor's degree in engineering
• Battery Energy Storage Systems - BESS Design Engineering experience
• The ideal candidate embodies a blend of technical expertise with strong project management skills and has pertinent experience the energy storage field.
• Expertise in one or more of these areas: Power electronics, Battery storage system design, Substation design, Generation tie design.
• Familiarity with energy storage technologies, including battery chemistries, power conversion units, and DC/DC converters.
• Familiarity with lithium-ion battery storage safety standards (UL1973, UL9540, UL9540A, NFPA 855, NFPA 70E, NEC, applicable IFC/IBC sections).
• Familiarity with IEC 61215, 61646, 61730.
