Production Supervisor

Bartech Staffing | Contract Position
Hourly Pay Range: $40.00-$43.00

Job Responsibilities

* Supervise and coordinate the activities of production and assembly workers in Assembly.
* Motivate employees and recommend improvements to production methods, equipment performance, quality, and efficiency.
* Review operations and work with technical and administrative teams to resolve production issues.
* Develop and implement production tracking, quality control processes, and performance monitoring.
* Analyze production, quality, and maintenance data to detect issues and drive corrective actions.
* Hire, train, evaluate, and administer discipline to hourly employees; manage grievances when needed.
* Maintain accurate production reports, personnel documents, and shift records.
* Conduct daily safety meetings and enforce safety and ergonomic standards.
* Perform shift handoffs and coordinate with 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shift supervisors.
* Monitor quality issues on the assembly line, ensuring torque, nuts, bolts, and components are installed correctly.
* Complete required interviews for attendance issues (late arrivals, call-ins).
* Support continuous improvement aligned with client's SPQRCE model (Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness, Cost, Environment).


Job Requirements

Education & Experience

* High school diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
* 10+ years of experience required.
* Minimum 5 years of manufacturing experience (required).
* Union/UAW supervisory experience is mandatory.
* Strong people‑leadership experience managing 20+ hourly employees.

Technical & Leadership Skills

* Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Kronos, and other timekeeping/ERP systems.
* Ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment.
* Strong communication skills and willingness to have tough conversations with employees.
* Effective time‑management and decision‑making skills.
* Ability to work independently with minimal direction.
* Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, and manufacturing best practices.
* Understanding of machines, tools, and production equipment.

Soft Skills

* Positive energy and a process‑driven mindset.
* Ability to lead confidently without being "run over" by the team.
* Thick skin and strong situational leadership in a UAW environment.


Work Schedule & Shift Details

This is a Monday-Saturday role, with occasional Sundays.
This position requires full flexibility across all shifts.

Shifts:
* 1st: 6:00 AM - 3:00 PM
* 2nd: 2:00 PM - 11:00 PM
* 3rd: 10:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Additional details:
* You will start on 1st shift for your first week of onboarding.
* Your long‑term shift assignment will be determined after week one.
* Every 3 weeks, you will work 7 days in a row.
* Schedule pattern: Two Saturdays on / One Saturday off.
* At times, you may work up to 13 days consecutively.
* If another supervisor is on vacation, you may be required to work 12‑hour shifts to split coverage.
* Attendance: Punctuality is critical; late arrivals are documented.
