Our client has engaged us to assist them in hiring a contract Production/Quality Group Leader. Hourly pay range: $36-$38/hour


Job Responsibilities

· Lead 15-30 employees in a fast‑paced, 24/7 manufacturing environment.
· Read and react to the daily production plan in real time.
· Manage multiple priorities and support production flow.
· Lead personnel in problem solving, inspection, quality control, and quality assurance.
· Administer National and Local Union Agreements consistently.
· Ensure employees follow safety protocols and standardized work practices.
· Perform timekeeping and support manpower allocation.
· Drive accountability and have necessary performance‑related discussions.
· Work efficiently in a loud, non‑climate‑controlled environment.
· Meet required physical demands including standing, bending, and lifting up to 40 lbs.
· Work rotating 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shifts, including weekends; some Sundays required.
· May work 12‑hour shifts to cover call‑offs or PTO.


Job Requirements

· Minimum 1 year of direct supervisory experience or 5 months as an internal per‑diem group leader.
· Prefer 3 years of overall supervisory experience.
· Strong leadership, teamwork, and process‑management skills.
· Ability to multitask and resolve conflict in a union environment.
· Experience leading teams in fast‑paced manufacturing settings.
· Basic computer proficiency (Word, email, typing).
· Ability to meet physical requirements of industrial work.
· Willingness to work rotating shifts and weekends.
· DOT requirement for operating equipment.
· Not seeking docking experience.
· High School Diploma or GED required.

Preferred Qualifications:
· Knowledge of Continuous Improvement Processes (CIP)
· Throughput Improvement Process (TIP) experience
· Manufacturing or assembly process familiarity
· Experience in unionized environments
· Quality or supply chain background
· Experience implementing built‑in‑quality initiatives
· Red X or DFSS certification (preferred)
· Lean manufacturing experience
· Knowledge of timekeeping systems
