Bartech Staffing is proud to partner with a leader in the Automotive Industry who is accepting applications for a Research Engineer. As a Research Engineer you directly influence next generation of communication systems and support the advancement of connected mobility technologies. This is a contractual opportunity, fully onsite, in the Mountain View, CA area
Hourly Pay Range $74/hr. - $80/hr. (W2)
Travel: ~5 domestic/international trips per year
Responsibilities

• 3GPP Standardization
• Contribute to 3GPP standardization activities
• Develop invention disclosures
• Write technical contributions for 3GPP RAN1, RAN2, and/or RAN working groups
• Attend and actively participate in 3GPP RAN1/RAN2 meetings
• Present regular updates to research teams and management
• Research for Connected Mobility
• Propose and lead research projects focused on communication technologies for connected mobility
• Conduct advanced research and development with internal and external partners
• Produce academic publications and invention disclosures
• Present research outcomes to team members and leadership

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally (typically Asia and Europe) for 3GPP meetings
• Strong R&D background in wireless communications, preferably with experience in vehicular environments
• Deep understanding of Layer 1 and Layer 2 wireless communication technologies
• Solid knowledge of 4G LTE, 5G NR, and 3GPP standardization processes
• Proven experience writing 3GPP contributions (RAN1 WG experience preferred)
• Ability to rapidly explore and master new research areas
• Excellent time-management, organization, and task prioritization skills
• Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills suitable for international audiences
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and within a high performance team
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to respond professionally and collaboratively in diverse situations
