Hourly pay range: $30-$32/hour
Job Responsibilities
- Serve as a Production Supervisor in Assembly, overseeing a team of represented hourly employees in daily vehicle manufacturing operations.
- Ensure high‑quality vehicles are built and all non‑conformance issues are properly addressed.
- Maintain daily employee timekeeping and payroll accuracy.
- Drive throughput improvements and track efficiencies daily.
- Manage departmental cost‑reduction initiatives, including scrap reduction.
- Lead problem‑solving activities for production, quality, safety, and process issues.
- Support people‑management activities, including employee relations, issue resolution, and timely grievance handling.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to resolve issues and maintain continuous communication (meetings, chats, daily touchpoints).
- Lead a team of approximately 40-60 employees, split across two departments.
- Rotate between 1st and 2nd shift every six months with the team.
Shift Details:
- 1st Shift: 5:35 AM touchpoint; 6:00 AM-2:30 PM (arrive by 5:30 AM)
- 2nd Shift: 2:35 PM touchpoint; 3:00 PM-11:30 PM (arrive by 2:30 PM)
Additional Requirements:
- On‑site role; no remote work.
- Fit for Work physical required.
- Overtime: ~5 hours/week, consistent.
- Workers must follow designated call‑off procedures.
- Attendance is critical; tardiness will be documented.
- Must be able to work within union contractual guidelines.
Job Requirements
- Education: Associate's Degree (4‑year degree not required).
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of manufacturing experience - automotive manufacturing preferred.
- Local candidates only; must be able to meet an early morning start time.
- Top 3 Must‑Have Skills:
- Manufacturing experience, ideally automotive.
- Experience working in a union environment.
- Mechanical aptitude - ability to visually identify parts, bolts, studs, and how components fit together (no hands‑on tool use required).
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
- Lean / Six Sigma experience preferred.
- Strong problem‑solving and people‑leadership skills.
