Telecom Engineer III

Bartech Staffing is proud to partner with a leader in power and energy distribution who is accepting applications for a Senior IT Telecom Analyst / Senior Power Engineer. This is a contractual opportunity, offering the flexibility of a Hybrid work environment (3 days onsite) in Raleigh, NC

Hourly Pay Range $50 per hour to $53 per hour (W2)

Top Skills Needed - Experience in engineering and delivering AC & DC power solutions for Telecom infrastructure applications including DC Plant systems and UPS systems plus battery monitoring solutions
Key Responsibilities

• Design Power Solution to address business needs including the planning, designing, implementing, testing and documentation of the communication systems & network components.
• Develop processes to better enable 1st and 2nd level teams to handle support issues along with providing 3rd level advanced support as needed. The successful candidate will be able to:
• Work independently with little direct supervision.
• Prepare engineering job packages (EJPs) consisting of detailed parts / equipment lists, logical installation instructions in relation to individual RF field work and appropriate documentation (drawings, network diagrams, shelf layouts, etc.).
• Ensure cost effective system designs meet business needs with reliable and efficient service.
• Prepare and submit cost estimates, economic studies, and Work Orders for planned installations where required.
• Work effectively with other team members providing coordination leadership to successfully implement projects as needed.
• Maintain familiarity with current telecommunications technology and available facilities.
• Provide technical assistance to NOC, Installation, and Maintenance personnel.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or similar degree with 6 years direct power engineering work-related experience.
• In Lieu of bachelor's degree, an associate's degree with 10 years direct power engineering work-related experience OR a High School Diploma and 15 years direct power engineering work-related experience
• Familiarity with the National Electric Code
• Experience with 240/120 AC power systems
• Experience with -48VDC power systems
• Experience with backup generating systems
• Familiarity with Grounding Standards for communications shelters and towers
• Basic MS Office skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, SharePoint, & Teams

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience with ServiceNow tools and workflows
• Experience working in Agile environments
• Familiarity with corporate documentation systems (Fusion, CASTPro)
• Strong understanding of engineering principles and problem-solving methodologies
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Utility industry experience
• Hands-on experience with Telecom UPS and DC Plant systems (Eltek, Vertiv, Powerware, Delta)
• Experience with Cisco routers/switches, Opengear, NetGuardian, Cambium, Nokia microwave, and optical transport devices (Alcatel-Lucent, Ciena)
• Minimum two years of Telecom Field Services or Telecom Engineering experience
• Familiarity with Agile, Kanban, and Jira
