Our client has engaged us to assist them in hiring a Full time Automation Manufacturing Engineer.
Job Title: Automation Manufacturing Engineer
Location: Onsite in Indianapolis, IN
Job Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire
Pay: $125,000-$145,000/year, dependent on experience
Responsibilities
- Participate in design reviews for automated equipment development
- Lead integration efforts for new automated systems, including testing and qualification
- Own and sustain equipment performance, driving continuous improvement
- Monitor equipment health and apply data analysis to identify root causes and corrective actions
- Champion cross-functional initiatives to maintain high Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE)
- Evaluate processing conditions and material properties using Statistical Process Control
- Manage process conditions to meet control documentation and product specifications
- Operate and improve mechanical and electromechanical systems
- Lead process improvement initiatives focused on performance and cost optimization
- Apply structured problem-solving tools such as DMAIC and Design of Experiments (DOE)
- Define and implement processing conditions for new equipment and materials
- Develop programs to support ongoing manufacturing improvements
- Oversee qualification of new equipment, processes, and materials
- Train operations personnel on equipment and process standards
- Provide timely disposition of nonconforming product and support corrective action efforts
- Track and report line yield and efficiency metrics
- Investigate quality issues and support implementation of corrective actions
- Collaborate on safety, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Interface with customers as needed for technical support
- Ensure compliance with Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security policies
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical, or Materials Engineering
- Minimum of 4-6+ years of experience in manufacturing or process engineering
- Proven ownership of equipment from deployment through long-term support
- Strong ability to manage and optimize process parameters
- Experience with PLC equipment (Programmable Logic Control), and robotics tooling
- Skilled in problem definition, data collection, and root cause analysis
- Comfortable interpreting complex variables and drawing conclusions
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma methodologies
- Familiarity with SPC and other statistical techniques
