Property Tax Lead

Our client has engaged us to assist them in hiring a contract Property Tax Planning and Compliance Lead. Job Responsibilities
Your specific duties as a Property Tax Planning and Compliance Lead.will include:
- Lead and support ongoing property tax initiatives related to new business ventures, organizational growth, and evolving business models.
- Conduct in-depth research on property tax matters and support updates to tax technology systems affecting indirect tax and accounting.
- Manage and support property tax audits; maintain proficiency with PTMS and RIA Checkpoint.
- Supervise and review preparation of all personal property tax returns, real property assessments, abatements, and compliance filings, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.
- Oversee tax-related forecasting, including preparation of tax expense account projections and analysis of budget-to-actual variances.
- Coordinate with external advisors to ensure all indirect tax obligations (returns, reports, payments, licensing, etc.) are fulfilled by required deadlines.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field
- Minimum 10 years of experience in a property tax-focused role within a multinational corporation, Big 4 firm, or equivalent environment
- Minimum 5 years of experience using PTMS, SAP, or similar tax compliance/management software
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and working knowledge of PowerPoint
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and maintain exceptional organizational skills
- Broad expertise across indirect tax with the ability to supervise and guide others
- Commitment to ongoing technical education related to statutory and regulatory tax requirements
Preferred:
- CMI designation, CPA, Master's in Accounting, or Master's in Taxation
Starting salary of 89K to $130K depending on education, skills, experience and level of experience
