Location: Burton, MI
Duration: Long‑term contract
Pay Rate: $28-$30/hour
Shifts:

• 1st Shift: 6:00 AM - 3:00 PM
• 3rd Shift: 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Position Summary
The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing hourly warehouse employees to meet business objectives related to safety, quality, productivity, and responsiveness. This role provides day‑to‑day leadership on the floor, supports employee development, and drives continuous improvement initiatives within the assigned area.

Key Responsibilities

• Coach, counsel, and support hourly employees regarding performance, attendance, and workplace concerns
• Reinforce positive behaviors and address performance issues in a timely and professional manner
• Utilize structured problem‑solving methods (Quality Network, A‑3 reporting) to address operational issues and improvement opportunities
• Apply Workplace Organization (WPO) principles to improve layouts, efficiency, and workflow
• Plan daily workloads and staffing to meet operational demands
• Conduct daily team meetings to communicate business performance and encourage two‑way dialogue
• Perform and document weekly safety observation tours
• Complete daily timekeeping updates to ensure accurate payroll processing
• Perform daily SOP audits to ensure compliance with standard work
• Enforce shop rules and adhere to national and local contractual requirements
• Collaborate with peers and leadership to optimize overall shift performance
• Maintain communication with the General Supervisor and Shop Committee regarding ongoing and upcoming activities
• Participate in the Individual Development Plan (IDP) process to advance leadership and technical skills

Required Skills & Competencies

• Knowledge of manufacturing and warehouse processes and procedures
• Basic math proficiency
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Working knowledge of scheduling, timekeeping, and management systems
• Understanding of basic technology used in the assigned area
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills in complex situations
• Proven interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate employees and drive performance
• Knowledge of quality control processes and standards

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or GED required
• 1-2 years of technical or business school training preferred
• Skilled trades training or equivalent technical experience preferred
• 5+ years of relevant manufacturing or warehouse experience required
