Hourly pay range $ 35-40
Shift Schedule
- Start on 1st Shift: 5:30 AM - 3:00 PM
- Rotating Schedule: Rotates between 1st and 2nd shift on a 3‑month basis
- 2nd Shift: 2:30 PM - 12:00 AM
- Rotation to 2nd shift is expected around July, with advanced notice provided
Position Summary
The Global Supply Chain Group Leader is responsible for the effective use of personnel, materials, and equipment to support production operations. This role leads a team of up to 30 hourly UAW employees and ensures material flow from dock to assembly while meeting safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and lead up to 30 hourly UAW employees, including timekeeping, performance management, and daily workforce activities
- Oversee material flow from dock to assembly line to support production schedules
- Lead and support Global Manufacturing Systems (GMS) processes, including launch and pilot activities
- Train, develop, evaluate, and motivate hourly team members using standardized work methods
- Ensure team members receive adequate Job Instruction Training (JIT)
- Meet or exceed production, cost, schedule, and quality targets
- Maintain awareness of quality standards and communicate department quality goals
- Identify, address, and prevent recurrence of quality and operational issues
- Promote and enforce safe work practices, ergonomics, health and safety, and housekeeping standards
- Apply lean manufacturing and synchronous principles to reduce variation, control costs, and improve productivity
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with employees, union representatives, and management
- Consistently administer National and Local Agreements between the company and the UAW
- Coach, mentor, and develop Group Leaders in leadership and operational responsibilities
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma (required)
- 3+ years of manufacturing experience
- 3+ years of supervisory or people‑leadership experience
- Experience working in a unionized manufacturing environment (UAW preferred)
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, with strong comfort using Excel
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree preferred (Supply Chain, Business, Logistics, or related field)
- Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
Top 3 Must‑Have Skills (Ranked)
- Manufacturing Experience - 3+ years
- Supervisory / People Leadership Experience - 3+ years
- Microsoft Office Proficiency - Strong Excel skills required
