Quality Engineer
Bartech Staffing is proud to partner with an Automotive client who is accepting applications for a Quality Engineer. This is a direct hire opportunity requiring the flexibility to work fully onsite in Rochester, MI.
As a Quality Engineer you will support Product Development teams and manufacturing plants with quality assurance activities to ensure product is built in accordance with customer and company specifications while maintaining efficient production flow.
Salary Range: $100k - $115K (Yearly)
MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Participates in product design for new products or modified products by:
- Represents customer, considering explicit and implicit needs
- Defines quality targets according to similar products already in production (customer claim base, 8D base, knowledge base)
- Identifies project risks through PRA (Project Risk Analysis)
- Leads early stages of Control plan development
- Insures output items from Design FMEA is included into the Process FMEA
- Responsible to implement Product Quality Plan for each product developed or modified, according to:
- Customer specific requirements such as; CQMS, Q1, SQMS, etc…
- Guarantees conformity of new or modified products until initial sample acceptance (including prototypes and off-tool parts) and has the authority to stop production and/or shipment of products in case of non-conformity (or doubtful conformity)
- Responsible for the treatment of laboratory validation incidents and customer incidents for new or modified product, through the search for root causes and the drawing up of action plans, using tools such as 8D reports
- Establishes the SQAR (Supplier Quality Assurance Request) for any new or modified product
- Coordinates the initial sample launch review for new or modified products and is responsible for the acceptance of Quality Assurance files by the customer
- Coordinates analysis and contact with OEMs for warranty process
Functional Relations
Work with all internal and external customers, suppliers, and plants in North America.
SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS/TRAININGS/AUTHORISATIONS
- BS degree in Engineering
- 5-10 years of quality engineering experience
- Proficiency with Excel, Minitab and PowerPoint
KNOWLEDGE
- Experience with Measurement System Analysis (MSA), Supplier qualification processes including PPAP reviews, 8D corrective action methods, basic and intermediate Statistical Analysis, Six Sigma and Lean Methods, plus ability to read/analyze engineering drawings
- Expertise in ISO/QS/TS type quality systems
- Ability to facilitate Kaizen events
- Experience in process engineering
