Production Process Coach (Contract)

Hourly pay: $38.72
Job Responsibilities
As a Production Process Coach, you will serve as a frontline leader responsible for the success of a designated production area. This role goes beyond supervision-you will coach, mentor, and lead hourly employees while driving continuous improvement across safety, quality, delivery, and cost (SQDC).
Safety
- Ensure all team members follow established safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment (5S)
- Conduct regular safety audits and lead incident investigations
Quality
- Monitor production quality to ensure all products meet specifications
- Implement corrective actions when defects occur
- Coach team members on "Quality at the Source" principles
Delivery
- Manage daily production schedules to meet output and delivery targets
- Coordinate with maintenance and logistics teams to minimize downtime and optimize throughput
Coaching & Leadership
- Act as a primary mentor for hourly employees
- Provide regular feedback, conduct performance reviews, and support skill development and cross-training
Continuous Improvement
- Drive Lean Manufacturing initiatives
- Lead Kaizen events and encourage team involvement in waste elimination
Labor Relations
- Manage timekeeping, attendance, and overtime
- Address employee concerns and grievances in accordance with company policies and collective bargaining agreements, when applicable
Problem Solving
- Utilize data-driven problem-solving tools such as 5-Why analysis and Fishbone diagrams to identify root causes and implement sustainable solutions
Job Requirements
- Leadership: Proven ability to lead and motivate a diverse team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively at all organizational levels
- Technical Aptitude: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and familiarity with production systems such as SAP or MES
- Flexibility: Ability to work various shifts, including nights and weekends, in support of 24/7 manufacturing operations
- Education: High School Diploma or GED
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with standardized work processes to ensure quality and safety
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles, including Continuous Improvement (Kaizen), 5S, and Just-In-Time production
- Familiarity with Lean operating frameworks
