Embedded Software Engineer - Body Control Systems (Contract)

Hourly pay rate: $47.01/hour-$51.66/hour
Job Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain embedded software components for automotive Body Control Systems
- Perform feature-level requirement analysis and develop functional specifications
- Program, debug, modify, and refactor embedded software using C and Python
- Develop and deliver high-quality, reusable, and performance-efficient device driver code
- Scale and adapt existing software components to meet new architecture requirements
- Collaborate with architecture, validation, and cross-functional partner teams to support software integration and reuse
- Create support documentation and integration guides for software components
- Execute code-level integration activities including build environment replication and source-level debugging
- Continuously improve and streamline deployment processes and CI/CD workflows
- Work with development and project managers to align CI/CD pipelines for product variant releases
- Evaluate tools, technologies, and methods for cloud-scalable test infrastructure supporting virtual and hardware ECUs
Job Requirements
- 5+ years of embedded software development experience
- Strong programming skills in Embedded C with the ability to write portable, platform-agnostic code
- 3+ years of experience with Objective-C
- Experience with MATLAB Simulink and Stateflow
- 3+ years of experience developing Proof-of-Concept applications for automotive ECUs
- 2+ years of experience working in an Agile development environment
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
- Ability to work onsite 4 days per week (hybrid role)
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
- Experience developing software for automotive control units
- Experience with AUTOSAR methodology and workflows
- Embedded software development experience on Linux platforms
- Familiarity with Kubernetes, OpenShift, and Docker
- Experience with Jenkins and GitHub Actions
- Software simulation experience using hardware models
- Knowledge of functional safety standards such as ISO 26262 and ASIL A-D
- Strong embedded debugging skills and familiarity with embedded development tools
- Self-motivated with strong communication and collaboration skills
