Pay Rate: $38-$40/hour
Work Type: Onsite
Schedule: 12-hour shifts | Rotating schedule

Work Schedule

  • 12-hour shifts on a 2-week rotating schedule
    • 2 days on / 2 days off
    • 3 days on / 3 days off
  • Weekend work required (Saturday and Sunday availability expected)
  • Must arrive 30 minutes prior to shift start for shift hand-off meetings

Shift Options:

  • 1st Shift: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM (report at 6:30 AM)
  • 2nd Shift: 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM
  • 3rd Shift: 11:00 PM - 7:30 AM


Position Overview
This role oversees daily operations within a die cast manufacturing environment, supervising union employees and ensuring production, safety, quality, and staffing objectives are met across assigned machines and teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise 18-20 UAW employees, including 2 team leaders
  • Oversee operations across 21 die cast machines
  • Lead shift pass-down and safety meetings
  • Review staffing daily using Kronos and address call-offs
  • Assign work based on production priorities and machine status
  • Monitor machine performance, quality issues, and production flow
  • Serve as a decision-maker and problem-solver for production and quality concerns
  • Handle employee issues, including disciplinary actions when required
  • Complete audits, pass-down sheets, and end-of-shift reports
  • Utilize Excel and Outlook to document production and shift notes
  • May oversee the melting team, as needed


Work Environment

  • Manufacturing / industrial die cast setting
  • Hands-on leadership role with frequent floor presence
  • No remote or flexible schedule options (onsite required)


Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma required
    • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of leadership experience
    • (Required if candidate holds a GED)
  • Technical manufacturing background, preferably in die casting
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience managing employee relations and conflict
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook)


Preferred Qualifications

  • Union experience (UAW strongly preferred)
  • Prior experience supervising large production teams
  • Experience in die cast or metals manufacturing environments
