Job Title: HIL Validation Engineer (ADAS)
Location: Dearborn, MI
Pay Rate: $36.66/hour (W2)
Duration: 12+ Month Contract

Overview
We are seeking a Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) Validation Engineer to support the development and validation of automotive software systems, including ADAS features. This role focuses on building and executing virtual validation environments to reduce dependency on vehicle-level testing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and implement efficient physical and virtual software validation methods by integrating plant models with controller source code
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery of in-house and supplier software compatible with virtual test environments
  • Develop and execute virtual test cases, including simulation of hardware-dependent scenarios
  • Partner with ADAS feature and system engineers to troubleshoot and resolve software issues
  • Work with HIL, DIL (Driver-in-the-Loop), and VIL (Vehicle-in-the-Loop) teams to reduce reliance on vehicle-level testing
  • Support and enhance automation for software builds, testing, data analysis, and reporting


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 2+ years of HIL development and execution experience
  • 2+ years of experience with MATLAB/Simulink
  • Hands-on experience working with HIL and DIL simulators
  • Experience deploying software to external target ECUs


Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
  • Experience with Embedded Tester, dSPACE, ECU-Test, and/or Vector tools
  • Familiarity with software configuration management tools (e.g., Git)
  • Experience working with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions)
  • Experience building plant and controller models for automotive systems (braking, steering, suspension)
  • Knowledge of vehicle CAN networks
  • Experience with system dynamics modeling and tools such as CarSim or CarMaker
